1. Types of Truck Cranes
Light Truck Cranes: The lifting capacity is generally below 12 tons. This type of crane is highly maneuverable and usually uses a light truck chassis. They are small in size and suitable for working in narrow sites, such as small-scale construction and municipal maintenance in cities. Light truck cranes are flexible to operate and can quickly reach the work site.
Medium Truck Cranes: The lifting capacity is approximately between 16 and 50 tons. It combines good lifting capacity with a certain degree of maneuverability and is generally installed on a medium-sized truck chassis. It is commonly used in general-scale construction projects, industrial plant construction, etc., and can lift building materials, small mechanical equipment, etc. The operating radius and lifting height can meet the needs of most such projects.
Heavy Truck Cranes: The lifting capacity exceeds 50 tons, and some large ones can even reach 1,000 tons. This type of crane is equipped with a powerful lifting system and is installed on a special heavy truck chassis or multi-axle chassis. It is mainly used in large-scale infrastructure construction, such as bridge construction, large power station construction, high-rise building construction, etc., and can lift huge steel beams, large generator sets and other super-heavy objects.
2. Uses of Truck Cranes
Construction field: At construction sites, truck cranes are used to lift building materials such as cement, bricks, steel, etc. At the same time, they play a key role in installing building components such as prefabricated panels, large glass curtain walls, and steel structure components. It can be flexibly moved to the appropriate position for lifting operations as needed at different construction stages.
Logistics and loading and unloading field: In ports, logistics warehouses, etc., truck cranes can load and unload large cargo, containers, etc. The loading and unloading of some irregularly shaped or oversized cargo can be achieved efficiently and safely through truck cranes.
Emergency rescue field: At the scene of natural disasters or accidents, truck cranes can be used to lift heavy objects, such as clearing debris from collapsed buildings, lifting accident vehicles, etc., to provide strong support for rescue work.
3. Selection of truck cranes
According to the operation requirements: If it is a small interior decoration or urban maintenance project, a light truck crane is sufficient to meet the needs. For projects such as large bridges and high-rise buildings, heavy truck cranes are required. Factors such as the weight of the heaviest object to be lifted, the lifting height, and the operating radius should be considered.
Site conditions: In an environment with narrow working sites and complex road conditions, light or medium-sized cranes with good mobility are preferred. If the site is relatively open and there is enough space for the crane to unfold and move, a larger crane can be selected according to the lifting requirements.
Economic factors: Buying or renting a crane requires costs. It is necessary to comprehensively consider the project budget, weigh the relationship between lifting capacity and price, and select a cost-effective crane on the premise of meeting the operating requirements. At the same time, the maintenance cost and service life of the crane should also be considered.
